Fitness Trumps Weight in Heart-Health Study

Women who are overweight yet fit appear less likely to suffer heart attacks or die than those who are slender but sedentary, say University of Florida researchers whose findings have been published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

But the surprising results should not be taken as a greenlight for unrestrained eating, the researchers caution. Being trim and fit is best, says cardiologist Dr. Timothy R. Wessel, an investigator at UF
