Parents worried over whether to give their babies a flu vaccine have been reassured by a recent study involving 45,000 US children from six months to 23 months old, which observed almost no side effects requiring medical treatment in the six weeks following vaccination.
The few that did require treatment were not considered serious.
More than 90 children under five die from flu in the United States each year.
The study, which is the largest ever conducted on the side effects of flu in infants and toddlers, is published in the
Journal of the American Medical Association. |
